Lateral Epicondylitis

Lateral Epicondylitis is the technical, medical term or diagnosis for what the rest of us call Tennis Elbow. Okay, so what is Tennis Elbow exactly?

An ‘Epicondyle’ is a bony knob – and ‘Lateral’ simply means to the side of the body.

So your ‘Lateral Epicondyle’ is the bony knob on the outside of your elbow – and the “ITIS” on the end suggests an inflammatory condition.

Forget about inflammation, though. It’s a medical myth that long-term or ‘chronic’ inflammation has anything to do with the condition or the pain of Tennis Elbow.
